What roles are available?
Camp Counselor

Being a Camp Counselor is like no other job placement you’ll ever have. Every day will bring you wonderful bizarre experiences and adventures. By the time you’re back, you’ll never be short of an interesting story to tell your mates. As a summer Camp Counselor, you’ll be living in a bunk with the campers and your role during the day will be split between leading activities you’ve highlighted in your application and supervising the campers as they move between activities. You may also find yourself assisting in other activities as part of your campers’ daily schedule. Life at camp can be pretty hectic and the job is certainly a tough one, but as Boyzone once sang, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Not to worry though, it will be the funnest job you'll ever have.

Support Staff Jobs

If you have office, maintenance, kitchen or housekeeping experience, why not consider a role as support staff? Every camp requires behind the scenes staff who ensure everyone has the equipment, facilities and food they need to keep camp running. Support staff roles receive a higher salary and are allocated more free time to ensure you can get involved with the day-to-day fun of camp. It's likely that you'll live separately to the campers in a staff bunk and so won't have a specific responsibility for a cabin of campers.

When do camp starts?
Every camp is different!

Each camp varies with the start date, which is why we ask for your availability to be between May 1st- June 19th. Your start date could be at any point between these dates, depending on your own availability and the camps' needs.

When is the latest date I can start working at a summer camp in the USA?

The latest you can be available to leave is June 19th. Ideally, you should set your date much earlier, as this increases the number of summer camp jobs in the USA you can be put forward for.

If you aren't available until after this date, you may be better suited to one of our other programmes.

When will I be placed at camp?

Placement can occur any time between November and June! Generally, the more highly-skilled applicants will be placed first, with more general applications filling the later spots. Some people go on review many times (the record is at 17 different camps!) before a match is found, others might be snapped up by the first camp that views their PDF.

How do I get to camp from the airport?

Before you fly to camp, you will have access to your onward travel instructions through the 'Travel & Flights' section of your account. They will tell you how to get from the airport to your camp step-by-step. This may include a bus/train transfer, or even a stay in a Hostel prior to a morning pickup. Don't worry - it'll all be there.

Can I travel after camp?

When your camp contract ends you have 30 days to travel around the USA before you fly home. This is your chance to eplore the Grand Ole US of A, head on a road trip, stay with camp friends, the USA is your osyter.
